Rebuilding Together Charleston's New Executive Director
In September of 2017, RTC's board voted to hire Allison Brill as the Executive Director. She was replacing Nemo Nearman who had been working with RTC for almost ten years! Allison had worked side-by-side with work teams for two summers (2016/2017) and knew the in's and out's of various projects.
Allison is from Hampshire County and graduated West Virginia Wesleyan College in May 2017 with a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in nonprofit. When asked to share some things about herself, you realize that she is a girl with many talents and interests. She can crochet and embroider while also garden and woodwork. During her free time she likes to read, try our new recipes and drink coffee. She loves animals but currently doesn't have any pets. She made it a point to mention instead she dotes on her cactus she calls Steve until she can get a pet of her own. Allison talks a lot about her family and that even though she is far away from home, she still makes time to call her parents and grandparents each week to see what everyone is doing.
When Allison found out that Nemo was looking to retire, she knew that she couldn't pass the opportunity up to apply for the position. Upon realizing she got the job she said, "I can't wait to get my hands dirty." After working alongside groups for two summers, Allison couldn't wait to see how much more she could do if she was in a leadership position.
